Founded by English spectacle maker John Nock in 1977, Budget Eyewear began trading in a small basement in Collins Street Melbourne under the name of Budget Specs.
With its unique offering of quality frames and lenses at never-seen-before low prices, word-of-mouth recommendations attracted an ever increasing number of customers as the Budget Specs business began to thrive.
Following a period of significant expansion in the mid eighties, Budget adopted a new logo in 1989 and began trading under the name of Budget Eyewear.
Now a national chain of over 85 outlets throughout Australia consisting of both franchised and corporate stores, the Budget Eyewear brand is stronger today than ever.
